For seniors and anyone living on a fixed income, a monthly bill is one more expense. The federal Lifeline program exists so eligible households can get free wireless service at $0/month through Assurance Wireless. Offers are available in selected areas and may vary by state.
If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, SNAP, a Veterans or Survivors Pension, or Federal Public Housing Assistance, you may qualify through that program. You can also qualify by income if your household income is at or below 135%–150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, depending on your state.
A working connection means being reachable for medical appointments, pharmacy calls, family check-ins, and emergencies. Monthly price requires usage once every 30 days and continued eligibility.
Have a photo ID, proof of SSI or another qualifying program (or proof of income), and a proof of address ready. Apply on the official partner page, or ask a family member to help you complete it. One benefit per household. The benefit is non-transferable.
